Ibiza: the best times to go on vacation

Ibiza enjoys a mild and sunny Mediterranean climate all year round. Winters are mild and slightly rainy, while summers are hot and dry. We can distinguish 2 different seasons on the island, the first is the hot and dry summer and the second is the mild and rainy winter. The hottest months are July and August, with average temperatures reaching 30°C. The sea is also warm at this time, with an average temperature of 25°C. The months with the most rain are November and January. However, it is between November and April when temperatures are the lowest of 8 to 20°C. In May and October, it is the “late season” when it is around 20°C.

March :

Temperatures from March onwards are milder (between 10°C and 17°C), with intermittent sunshine and some rain possible. It is also the beginning of the flowering of the trees, offering a spectacle for hiking enthusiasts.

This is the ideal month to discover the authentic and traditional aspect of the island, the hikes are pleasant and, best of all, the prices are affordable.

However, the weather is sometimes unpredictable with showers from time to time. For lovers of festivals and water activities, sorry for you but most of them may be closed.

April :

April temperatures are starting to rise (between 11°C and 19°C), the sun is becoming more and more present and the rain is becoming rarer. With March, it is the best period for hikers sheltered from tourism.

April remains a calmer month than May and June, but gets lively at the last weekend with organized festive events. Bonus point, the prices are still great!

Note, however, that the nights still remain cool, and that swimming in the sea can be chilly.

May :

In May, Ibiza finally emerges from its winter temperatures and becomes pleasant (between 16°C and 22°C). The sea is starting to warm up.

You will be able to enjoy your first swims without the rush of high season. Although the festive atmosphere is starting to set in, prices continue to be attractive compared to summer.

June :

It's the start of the beautiful days, it's warm and sunny (between 18°C and 26°C), the sea is warm (around 22°C) and there's a festive atmosphere. At the beginning of June, it is noticeably busier, the ideal month for those who want to enjoy the good weather and the tranquility of Ibiza. Evening enthusiasts will be served at much bigger festivals than last month. However, prices are starting to rise a little but still remain reasonable.

July and August :

In high season, the temperatures are much warmer (between 21°C and 30°C), the sea too (around 25°C) and be careful of sunburn because it is omnipresent.

The party atmosphere is at its peak, the clubs and events are all open without exception and the nightlife is intense.

With the sun rising early and setting late, July is the perfect time to make the most of the island's ambiance. Settle into Monkey Ibiza in Sant Antoni to watch the iconic sunset. You will not be disappointed.

August is the peak of Ibiza season. The first week of the month is generally the busiest week in the calendar and the club evenings promise to be full of atmosphere, always continuing the month of July.

This is the busiest and most expensive time of year, with flight and accommodation prices high, and beaches crowded with the influx of tourists.

September :

Despite the end of summer, the month of September still remains sunny and warm (between 19°C and 27°C), with seas around 24°C and fewer tourist numbers.

It's a good compromise between sun, festive atmosphere and reasonable prices with events that close the season. The island is becoming less and less busy as in June with the weather becoming a little more unpredictable compared to the high season which can lead to the closure of certain attractions.

October :

The arrival of autumn does not prevent temperatures from being pleasant (between 16°C and 23°C), and swimming is still possible (around 22°C).

Going in October is the ideal month to enjoy the sun, visits and dinners without crowds and at very affordable prices. It is also the ideal time to start hiking again and discover the local heritage.

November to February:

Although less popular, the winter season remains mild even if it is sometimes rainy (between 8°C and 15°C), swimming time is past. However, it is advisable to come for the New Year with a much more festive atmosphere on this occasion.

The prices are very low and you can enjoy absolute peace of mind. Bonus point with the possibility of practicing water sports such as surfing during wave-prone January.

Ibiza changes its hat depending on the seasons, calm and gentle in winter the island becomes energetic and lively during the summer. However, it retains a moment of transition where the crowd is not yet there. Suitable for all types of people, it is not only the party island but also the hiking island with its many breathtaking landscapes for our greatest pleasure.
